sea and soul merge as one

I have found a place,
deep within,
where art and healing connect.
When we trust in divine order,
and allow God's spirit to enter,
the miracle of transformation occurs.

his fragmented past flashes its love

and if it does,
we won't need to tell anybody it does.

to call attention to their shining
they just shine."

it longed to see the sea

“To put meaning in one's life may end in madness,
But life without meaning is the torture
Of restlessness and vague desire--
It is a boat longing for the sea and yet afraid.”

They were camouflaged by self-surprise!

Please visit my images on flickr which I really consider my up-to-date, photographic website!

These words are so reflective of my artistic beliefs:

"The Artist's Secret"

"I don't understand ambition.
When you paint a picture and you have a definite aim in view,
I have the strange feeling that nothing much is going to come of it.
I don't understand definite goals, anyway,
toward anything.
One ought to be absolutely surprised of whatever finally happens,
almost against one's own aims.
The greatest singing birds generally stop in the midst
of the most daring trills and roulades,
cock their head sideways,
as if utterly amazed at the fabulous sounds they have just given off.
They are astonished by their own performance,
as if it had been perpetrated by someone else,
and this is, indeed,
the highest delight in life
TO DISCOVER
that you have capabilities that surprise even you.
So ambition seems like a little side alley.
an error in judgment, or a substitution of something trivial
for what ought to be your real goal,
SELF-SURPRISE!"

paint and lens interfaced quite wholeheartedly

This was a totally new experiment for me (no, not working out of the right side of my brain...that's pretty normal!).
I began painting on watercolor paper with gold, silver and copper acrylics.
Next I handed the piece to my husband who was sitting in front of our living room window with all the colored glass bottles and hanging prisms.
As our heart-shaped prism caught the sunlight, I shot with my camera.
I downloaded the image into photoshop and used many filters for various effects.
Finally I uploaded to flickr and played more in picnik because I love their fonts and mirrored image capabilities!
I took about 50 shots in front of the window, but loved the "face" that appeared in this image.
Enjoy ~ I sure did!

“Who sees the human face correctly:
the photographer,
the mirror,
or the painter?”
“Are we to paint what's on the face,
what's inside the face, or what's behind it?”
~ Pablo Picasso ~

“Your decision to be, have and do something out of ordinary entails
facing
difficulties that are out of the ordinary as well.
Sometimes your greatest asset
is simply your ability to stay with it
longer than anyone else.”
~ Brian Tracy ~

“Spread love everywhere you go:
First of all in your own house ...
let no one ever come to you without leaving better and happier.
Be the living expression of God's kindness;
kindness in your face,
kindness in your eyes,
kindness in your smile,
kindness.”
~ Mother Teresa ~
